Literature Beyond Page: A Living Literary Journey by Ballpoint

In a grand and vibrant arrangement, the literary organization Ballpoint organized a joyful excursion on Friday (January 16, 2026), taking its members on a daylong journey across several scenic locations in Noakhali and Lakshmipur. Poets, writers, and literary enthusiasts of Ballpoint turned the trip into a celebration of literature, nature, and companionship.

As dawn broke, the Ballpoint excursion set into motion. The departure point soon came alive with the footsteps and conversations of poets, litterateurs and writers. Even before reaching the destination, the bus itself transformed into a moving literary salon—poems were recited, songs were sung, and the atmosphere brimmed with creative energy. In the first half of the day, the Ballpoint group visited Noakhali Garden Park, where Ballpoint’s poets and writers lost themselves in the lap of nature, embraced by rustic serenity and natural beauty. After the Jum’ah prayers, everyone gathered for a lavish midday feast. The taste of steamed rice accompanied by delicious duck curry, coral fish, black gram lentils, and vegetables—along with curd made from buffalo milk—was truly unforgettable. It is hard to imagine that anyone who joined this journey could ever forget such a sumptuous meal.

The journey then continued along dusty rural roads toward the newly emerged coastal stretches of Lakshmipur’s chars. There, amid the triumphant rhythm of the sea and reflections on the lives of boatmen, conversations flowed—blending personal and impersonal stories, quiet confessions and collective musings.

As dusk approached, we followed narrow village paths to reach the enchanting Alexander Meghna Beach, located at the southernmost edge of Lakshmipur. During British rule, an English official named Alexander was appointed in Ramgati for revenue collection, and the area was later named after him. Along the Meghna River, embankments built to prevent river erosion have given rise to immense tourism potential. Coconut and areca nut groves lining the embankment, combined with the cool sea breeze, are enough to captivate anyone. Standing there, one moment it feels like the river’s edge, the next like a sea beach. From this vantage point, we witnessed the sunset—what a breathtaking surrender of the sun to the sea it was!

As evening deepened, the return journey toward Feni began. Once again, the bus resonated with poetry and music, as everyone expressed their talent in their own unique way. Snacks were shared along the way, with Lakshmipur’s famous rosogolla being a special delight. Meanwhile, a raffle draw was held, where fortune smiled upon seventeen lucky participants.

Altogether, with nearly fifty poets, writers, and litterateurs, Ballpoint’s splendidly organized excursion transcended a simple tour—it became a journey of literature itself, destined to echo endlessly in memory.
